Wii are Working on Getting Fit

As of March 8th I took up exercising 15 minutes daily with our Wii Fit. (Yes, we have a Wii Fit. I bought it with bonus money and gift cards almost a year ago. Yeah! for no out of pocket expense for us.) This is to work towards one of my goals on my 101 List. My goal is to work out 15 minutes daily for one month then move up to 30 minutes next month. I am terrible with consistency so I know I need to start slow. I also hate working out so this is already a stretch (no pun intended) for me.

I am not one of those people that feel refreshed after a work out. I am one of those people that feels pissed off and out of breath….and thirsty…extremely thirsty. I don’t enjoy sweating, and I hate feeling sore.

But with all of that said I don’t want to continue down the path I have set out for myself. I don’t have a job that requires much movement so I don’t get out unless I take a walk at lunch (and like I am going to do that). So I end up coming home after work, eating, and then settling in to watch a movie or do some housework. But I know that a child is in our future (not immediate future, but future none the less) so I want to get in shape now so that it wouldn’t be so difficult to bounce back later. And so that I get into a routine now and it won’t seem so weird later.

I am focusing mostly on the aerobics, yoga, and balance games because I know my balance is terrible. My legs are always covered in bruises because I trip and hit things. I am quite clumsy. (Bet you never would have guessed that.)

Wish me luck! I will let you know how it goes.

What is your work out regiment? Do you love to work out or hate it?

February Brings.... A Job!

The masses rejoice! A job has finally come my way!

I have landed a pretty sweet gig as a full-time teller at a bank. Well, technically, it isn't at one specific bank but instead I will be "floating" around to area branches to help them. But it is full-time and paid mileage so life is good.

The colors of the bank are shades of green. Could this perhaps be a sign from God? Probably not. But here is to wishful thinking.

So I am excited to be employed in this economy and handle green money all day. And then very thoroughly wash my hands every day after. Money is quite dirty after all. I don't need to be getting high off of cocaine (at least not yet, just kidding) or anything else that is usually found on it.

Apologies for the side note blog post. Not the usual stuff but come back tomorrow for more eco-tips and jazz.

YAY! For another 101 List item checked off. Not sure what I am talking about? Click here.

Keeping Up With the List

Since I am working on actually accomplishing my 101 List I decided to try a new recipe tonight.

I made Kraft's Perfect Zesty Chicken Tortilla Bake. I cut the recipe in half and will still have leftovers. It isn't the most healthful meal, but it sure did taste good.

I used all-natural chicken, organic salsa, and unbleached organic flour. Otherwise I stuck to the recipe. Oops, except that I used Hellman's Mayo instead of Miracle Whip. That is a Mr. preference that I am not willing to fight.

Mine looked quite similar to the picture above, but we had already dug into it before I thought about taking a picture. Overall, wonderful meal. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

And sorry for the late post. Working on another one and my brain lapsed on getting today's out.

The List

The Challenge:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.
